Our fall 2009 meeting was held at the Red Hook Brewery meeting hall in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on October 19, 2009.  . Jim Miller, MCPF hosted two very informative afternoon classes (Object mounting with clear film, and adhesives in the shop). 32 attended

There was a one hour “Meet and Greet” session where members and perspective members mingled, had appetizers, voted for popular choice, and talked with the 13 vendors that were set up with tables.

The evening meeting had 54 attendees, and included door prizes, future meeting info, print competition judging and critique, new board members nominated, and an “Ask a dumb question” panel; which was a smash success.  This may become a regular feature of our future meetings. The panel members included Rich Riman, Harry Gaston, CPF, and Jim Miller, MCPF

Our next chapter meeting will be a dinner meeting on Sunday January 31, in Franklin MA.  Details are forthcoming.

Don’t forget the PPFA framer’s corner forum at http://www.pmai.org/ppfa/forum/  You can also check the accuracy of your listing at www.findapictureframer.com

Thanks to all who attended!

Special Sunday Dinner Meeting 1/11/09

The Manor – West Boylston, MA

Networking Activities, start 6 PM, Dinner at 7:15 PM

Panel discussion: “Add-on Revenue Sources for a Frameshop”

After a grueling early winter and (hopefully) hectic holiday season this is a chance to depressurize and think about what can be added to your shop’s offerings to increase customer interest and further add to the bottom line. Three of our members: Pam Thomas of ArtPlaq will talk about plaqueing, Mike Labbe of Get The Picture Framing will talk about photo restoration; and Kris Thomas of Photo Quick of Waltham will talk about photo gifts to start the ball rolling. As usual, those in attendance are expected chime in with what has worked or is working for them.

As we enter this new year with its “not too hot” economic outlook we must think outside of the frame to find new sources of customer enticements. Some we can implement ourselves, others may require either assistance or cooperative ventures.

Seating is limited so get your reservation in early
